Terry: We'll sort it out

England skipper John Terry expects Fabio Capello and the squad to "thrash out" what needs to be changed ahead of next month's World Cup qualifiers.

The Chelsea defender acknowledged that England must improve considerably from the 2-2 draw with Czech Republic.

He said: "It is down to the manager to address the players. We'll get things off our chest. It's not just this game where there have been problems."

Rooney fears no-one

Wayne Rooney insists England "can beat anyone" - despite their disappointing draw against the Czech Republic.

England next month will face Andorra and Croatia in what will be Fabio Capello's first competitive tests.

Rooney said: "In the second half we could have done a lot better but it was still a decent result. There's more to come but we're always confident we can beat any team if we play at our best."

Barwick: Time for change

Brian Barwick admits it is "time for a new chapter at the Football Association" after confirmation he is to step down as chief executive.

He leaves less than four years after being appointed as the successor to Mark Palios amid reports of a fallout with FA chairman Lord Triesman.

Barwick told Sky Sports News: "I'm very disappointed to leave. It's a terrific place, full of terrific people."

Barwick: Fabio right man

Brian Barwick is confident Fabio Capello will lead England to success over the next few years.

Barwick, to leave his post as the FA's chief executive on December 31, played a big part in getting the Italian on board as national team manager in succession to the axed Steve McClaren.

He said: "I'm convinced that, in Fabio, the England team has the right manager and a genuine chance of success."

Davies questions role

Former FA chief executive David Davies has questioned whether the governing body need to appoint a replacement for outgoing incumbent Brian Barwick.

Barwick's departure comes less than four years after taking the role amid reports of a fall-out with FA chairman Lord Triesman over his role.

Davies told talkSPORT: "The question people should be asking is - do you need a chief executive of the FA?"

Wenger backs Capello

Arsene Wenger is convinced Fabio Capello will safely guide England to the 2010 World Cup.

Capello has come in for criticism after a scrambled goal from substitute Joe Cole in stoppage time earned England a barely deserved 2-2 draw against the Czech Republic on Wednesday.

Wenger said: "He will get the job done and I ask you to believe that as well. I am convinced he has the strength."
