Robinson exit after gaffe

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has admitted Ashley-Paul Robinson will leave the Championship club after revealing his future plans on Facebook.

The winger, 18, wrote a message on the social networking site announcing that he was having a trial with London rivals Fulham and Warnock admitted he will be letting the player go.

He told The Guardian: "It's better he looks to further his career elsewhere."

Saints cut Bale deal

Southampton have forfeited a chunk of the transfer fee owed by Tottenham for Gareth Bale to ease financial problems.

Spurs paid an initial £5m for the Wales international, with a further £5m based on appearances, but returning chairman Rupert Lowe has accepted an earlier settlement from the north London club.

He told the club website: "Given our current financial situation, we must do all we can to go into the new season."

Morrison offer withdrawn

Crystal Palace have withdrawn their contract offer to Clinton Morrison to all-but signal the end of the striker's Selhurst Park career.

The 28-year-old, who has not returned for pre-season, was offered a new deal after scoring 16 goals last season, but boss Neil Warnock is not prepared to wait for an answer.

He told the SLP: "He's not accepted our offer so it's no longer on the table."

Cullum eyes City takeover

Businessman Peter Cullum will discuss a takeover at Norwich with Delia Smith and her husband Michael Wynn Jones.

The 57-year-old revealed last week he was prepared to plough £20m into the Carrow Road club but was told an offer of £56m would be needed to take over.

He told the Evening News: "Delia and Michael have had a change of heart and felt it would be worthwhile sitting down to discuss the parameters."
