Boyd quits Burley squad
Kris Boyd has revealed he will no longer play for Scotland while George Burley is manager.
The Rangers striker, who has played just 28 minutes of Burley's reign, was overlooked in favour of Chris Iwelumo when Burley substituted James McFadden against Norway on Saturday.
He told the BBC: "I will not be playing for George Burley again, but I hope to be back in a Scotland jersey one day."
Burley rues Boyd's exit
Scotland manager George Burley admitted he was disappointed after Kris Boyd decided to quit international football.
The Rangers striker has revealed he will no longer play for Scotland while Burley remains at the helm.
Burley said: "It is disappointing that he has chosen to do this at a crucial time in our World Cup campaign, but it is his decision to make and I will, of course, respect it."
Burley backs Iwelumo
George Burley claimed Chris Iwelumo would have scored "99 times out of 100" the incredible chance he squandered in the World Cup qualifier against Norway.
The Wolves striker, 30, stunned the Tartan Army when he missed an open goal three yards out in the second half.
Scotland boss Burley added: "Afterwards Chris said, 'I should have scored', and he is disappointed. But his height and strength gave them problems."
