James out of Fulham clash

England goalkeeper David James has been ruled out of Portsmouth's Barclays Premier League clash with Fulham.

James is "still not fit" after two weeks out with a calf injury and manager Harry Redknapp admits there could still be a slight worry over him for next Saturday's FA Cup final.

James desperately wanted to prove his fitness against the Cottagers but now faces a race to be fit for Wembley.

Green eyeing England spot

West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green has urged England boss Fabio Capello to give him an international chance.

Green, who won his only cap against Colombia in 2005 and was overlooked by Steve McClaren, has had a fine season but has yet to convince the Italian that he is worthy of regular place.

He said: "It's a difficult situation with England but I have to keep working hard and hope to get that chance."
