Restaurant Group sales up
Despite "tough trading" Restaurant Group has reported a 3% like-for-like sales rise in the 34 weeks to August 24 due to a "resilient market position".
The group, which owns Frankie & Benny's and Chiquitos, saw pre-tax profit rise 19.9% to £21.1m in the half to June 29 and expects further progress.
It said it is benefiting from fixed-cap price contracts with suppliers agreed in 2006 and 2007. Shares rose 5¼%.
