Bank lending rates ease
Lending rates between banks have edged lower as global bail-outs begin a gradual thaw in frozen money markets.
Three-month borrowing costs between banks eased from 6.25% to 6.21% - although this is still well above the Bank of England's 4.5% interest rate.
Efforts to get money markets moving have involved governments and banks pumping hundreds of billions of pounds into the system to make cash available.
