Coldplay win Q Awards double
Coldplay have triumphed at the Q Awards, winning both best album and best act in the world today.
Picking up the best album gong for Viva La Vida the band's frontman Chris Martin warned the crowd he was going to bore them, before launching into a rambling acceptance speech.
He declared Coldplay are "the greatest band in the world", before adding bashfully: "U2 are on holiday."
Welsh star Duffy picked up best breakthrough, while Keane won best track for comeback song Spiralling.
The music magazine also honoured veteran artists including Grace Jones, who was named Q idol, and Glen Campbell, winner of the legend award.
Meat Loaf was presented with the classic song award for his epic Bat Out Of Hell. The Cocteau Twins were honoured with a prize for inspiration.
Pink Floyd's David Gilmour was given the outstanding contribution to music gong, and Adam Ant was named an icon.
Kaiser Chiefs walked off with best live act, beating current album chart toppers Kings of Leon, while Vampire Weekend's A Punk was judged best video.
But the New York band lost out in the best new act category to The Last Shadow Puppets. Winners were selected by readers of the music magazine.
Webber estate won't go to kids
Andrew Lloyd Webber says he'll leave the bulk of his fortune to help budding composers and singers after his death.
The composer revealed his five children won't inherit his entire £750m or take over his theatre group.
Lord Lloyd Webber told the Daily Mirror that his children "aren't bothered". He said: "They don't think that way. It is about having a work ethic - I don't believe in inherited money at all."

The accomplished actor, who played Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the sci-fi classic, is reported to have signed up for a major role in a two-parter to air next year, involving the Daleks.

Iraq drama enlists Nesbitt
James Nesbitt has been enlisted for a BBC1 drama about the Iraq war.
The Cold Feet and Murphy's Law star will play one of the leads in the Peter Bowker-penned production charting the experiences of three British soldiers.
Occupation, to air next year, covers the war from invasion in 2003 to the present. "It's a story about three men who are united in battle, but are torn apart by the aftermath," said Bowker.
X Factor finalists revealed
The X Factor is down to the last 12.
Simon Cowell's Boys category is made up of Eoghan Quigg, 16, Scott Bruton, 19, and Austin Drage, 21. Cheryl Cole will mentor the Girls: Diana Vickers, 17, Alexandra Burke, 19, Laura White, 20.
Louis Walsh will lead the Groups: girls Bad Lashes and GirlBand, and boyband JLS. Dannii Minogue mentors the Over-25s: Ruth Lorenzo, 25, Rachel Hylton, 26, and Danny Evans, 38.
Half of Glasto tix have gone
Half of the tickets for 2009's Glastonbury music festival have already been bought or reserved, more than eight months in advance.
Tickets went on sale for the Somerset even on Sunday morning, and by the early evening more than 50 per cent of the 137,500 tickets had gone.
The sales line is open for a week, and then will reopen on April 5 for the £175 tickets, reservable for £50.
Eubank for I'm A Celeb...?
Ex-boxer Chris Eubank could be packing his bags for the I'm A Celebrity jungle.
ITV refuses to comment, but he is said to have been signed up, hoping an appearance will ease his money worries.

Jolie may have more children
Angelina Jolie says she may have more children with partner Brad Pitt.
Jolie, 33, who gave birth to twins Knox and Vivienne in July, and has another biological daughter and three adopted children, answered "no" when asked if she felt she had completed her family.
She told the Daily Mirror: "The thing about having six is once you've passed three or four, it's so crazy... that it's just more chaos it's all OK."
