Sheen at Frost/Nixon premiere

Actor Michael Sheen joked he was attempting to "de-Frost" following his portrayal of the renowned interviewer Sir David Frost in his latest film.

The premiere of Frost/Nixon in London's Leicester Square was attended by Sheen and Sir David himself, who said he was "delighted" by the film.

The movie depicts meetings between Sir David and former US president Richard Nixon in 1977. It opens on January 9.

Rolf re-makes Two Little Boys

Veteran entertainer and artist Rolf Harris is re-recording his classic hit single Two Little Boys with a Welsh male voice choir.

The Australian topped the charts for six weeks with his Christmas 1969 No 1 hit the first time around.

The 60-member Fron Male Voice Choir has topped the chart in its own right, with the No 1 classical and Top 10 pop album Voices Of The Valley in 2006.

Corrie's cobbles are to be graced by a second Bollywood star, writes Jonathan Donald.

Sophiya Haque has been cast as Poppy who will become the 51st barmaid to pull pints at the Rovers Return.

She will arrive as a friend of Liz and upset barmaid Michelle when she's made the assistant manager. Ayesha Dharker, who played Dev's love Tara, was the first of Corrie's Bollywood babes.

Oasis confirm Slane gig

Oasis have confirmed rumours that they plan to play for up to 80,000 fans at Slane Castle in Ireland next summer.

Noel Gallagher and guitarist Gem Archer flew in to the legendary Co Meath venue to announce they will headline a gig on Saturday June 20.

Oasis first supported REM at the castle grounds in the summer of 1995. Gallagher's father hails from nearby Duleek.

Comedy Awards back on ITV1

The British Comedy Awards are to return to ITV1 in December after being kept off screen last year due to vote rigging problems in 2005.

The cream of UK comedy are expected to muster in early December for the bash, to be hosted by Jonathan Ross and broadcast without a viewers' vote.

Celebrity agents and PRs are said to have been asked if their clients would be free on December 6.

Cowell tipped for Brit Award

X Factor supremo Simon Cowell could be in the running for a surprise Brit Award next year, even though he has never written a song.

The Sun reports that the music industry mogul is a leading contender for the prestigious Outstanding Contribution gong. Past recipients have included Sir Paul McCartney, U2 and Oasis.

A source said: "It would cause an almighty stink in the music game."

Coldplay lead American noms

Coldplay and Alicia Keys lead the nominees for the 2008 American Music Awards, it's been announced.

Both are contenders for Artist Of The Year, with Keys amassing a total of five nominations and the British rock band netting four.

Other multiple nominees and Artist Of The Year candidates include the Eagles and Lil Wayne. Rihanna and the Pussycat Dolls will perform at the Nov 23 bash.
