Aspel is Countdown favourite
Michael Aspel is favourite to replace Des O'Connor as presenter of Countdown.
Gyles Brandreth and Stephen Fry are joint second favourites, while Des Lynam is 12-1 for a shock return.
O'Connor is quitting at the end of the current Channel 4 series in November. He said he missed the excitement of one-man concerts, and revealed he is in talks about a role in a major West End stage production.
