Coronation Street's Kenneth Cope wants an apology from the NHS after being incorrectly diagnosed with cancer.

The actor, who plays Jed Stone in the ITV soap, was told at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford, that he was suffering from incurable disease mesothelioma.

For six years I lived under a false death sentence," he told the News of the World. "When I found out the truth I was shocked, angry and elated."
