Glitter on flight back to UK

Paedophile Gary Glitter finally left Bangkok on Thursday on a flight to London, the Foreign Office said.

The 64-year-old refused to return to the UK following his release on Tuesday from a Vietnamese prison where he had been held for abusing two young girls.

But having failed to gain entry to Thailand on two occasions and Hong Kong once, Glitter - real name Paul Gadd - agreed to fly to London Heathrow.

Glitter had been at the centre of an international game of ping-pong as country after country refused him leave to enter.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We can confirm that Mr Gadd has left Bangkok and is heading to the UK."

He is expected to arrive at Heathrow about 7.15am on Friday and police will serve him an order which will put him on the sex offenders' register.

The former Atomic Kitten star reduced her £417,000 tax bill to £82,000 but HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) insisted today on pressing ahead with the bankruptcy petition issued in January.

Mr Registrar Nicholls agreed to make the order after giving Katona, 27, a final hour to come up with the balance.

The London pub part-owned by Madonna and Guy Ritchie has been cleared of price-fixing.

The couple own shares in The Punchbowl, just around the corner from their west London home, and the landlord had been accused of having two price lists, one for locals and another for tourists.

A spokesman denied unfair pricing and a probe by Westminster council confirms a fixed price list is now on display.
