Rachel crowned Big Bro champ
Rachel Rice has been crowned champion of Big Brother 9 after beating bookies' favourite Mikey Hughes in the final.
The 24-year-old trainee teacher, from Torfaen in Wales, won the reality show with 51.3% of the votes to walk away with the £100,000 first prize.
Australian PA Sara Folino, 27, came third ahead of fourth-placed chef Rex Newmark, 23, while 26-year-old albino songwriter Darnell Swallow was fifth.
When presenter Davina McCall announced the result, Rachel screamed "Oh my God, no way!", before she hugged Mikey and told him "I love you so much".
She later emerged from the 93-day stint in the house to cheers and fireworks.
Looking shocked, she told Davina: "These things just don't happen. Honestly, you dream about going on Big Brother but then when you actually win, it's like, how?"
During her time in the house, Rachel was accused by housemates of "sitting on the fence" and of being a "fake".
However, the former child actor denied she'd been false, saying: "Honestly Davina, how can you not be who you are if you're in there for 13 weeks?
"I've learnt to be true to who you are. People can try and tell you you're fake and try and break you down. I know who I am, it's fine."
Second-placed Mikey won 49.7% of the final head-to-head vote.
The blind radio producer told Davina: "I'm glad that Rachel is the winner. I just liked her because she seemed to be quite nice and genuine and she always treated me well."
The Scot also said he was proud he'd "stood up to all the bullies that we've had in the house this year", singling out "spoilt" Rex for criticism.
