Bumper year for Theatreland
London's theatres enjoyed a bumper year in 2007, thanks partly to shows featuring stars chosen by TV viewers.
Two-thirds of tickets sold were for musicals, with Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, starring Any Dream Will Do winner Lee Mead, and Grease doing particularly well.
Attendances exceeded 13m for the first time, with box office takings of £470m, says the Society of London Theatre.
