Ricky Gervais is to appear on hit US children's TV show Sesame Street.

Ricky writes on his website: "I've been asked to do Sesame Street - there are some things you don't turn down."

The comic follows the likes of David Beckham and Jessica Alba who have all starred in the long-running show. Ricky also writes that he's asked Danny DeVito, Michael Douglas and Al Pacino to appear in the third Extras series.
