White to fill key role

Giles White has been made team manager at Hampshire for the 2009 campaign.

The Barnstaple-born former Loughborough University student, 36, on the club's coaching staff since 2002, steps up from his role as second XI boss.

Chairman Rod Bransgrove said: "Giles did a superb job as caretaker manager during the last couple of months of the season. He has earned the right to take the position on a full-time basis."
