Andy Roddick must be congratulated on a fine performance against Andy Murray. Areas I feel Murray still needs to work on is his serve and be a bit more aggressive on his returns. What a fairytale it would be for Roddick if he could beat Roger Federer.
Kris, ReigateMurray has done himself proud and is still Grand Slam material. Roddick's experience gave him the edge and he was simply the better player.
Aileen, Edinburgh I have never warmed to Andy Murray's personality. However he has come on in leaps and bounds, has equalled Tim's best Wimbledon performance, and may well become a future champion. In the meantime immense credit should be given to Andy Roddick.
Geoff, CricklewoodI think Murray is a fine player but Wimbledon champion? Not in a million years. Roddick proved that.
Col, Newcastle Re: Steve, London. Whose comments do you think are more useful to the LTA? The diplomatic, non-committal ones or the honest constructive criticism? I'd rather listen to a sportsman be honest and up front than be a bland media-trained bore.
Rhiona, Dundee.Wow, what a match. I was really pleased to see Andy Roddick win - he played so well. I'm now looking forward to a great final on Sunday with two excellent players.
Karen, Brittany Thank goodness Murray was beaten. Now we can all settle down and watch a real quality final without Murray's mum jumping up and down every two minutes.
GF, LiverpoolAndy Murray... simply not good enough.
Sanjay, Ilford.Hard luck Andy Murray, now come on Federer and make Roddick suffer on Sunday.
Ian, Dudley There is no disgrace in Andy losing to an inspired Roddick, who will hopefully put Federer in his place.
Gary, CoventryI was sure this was Andy's Wimbledon and I was wrong. He came up against an inspired Roddick who played some great tennis. I suppose now we'll have to put up with the anti-Murray brigade for the next week or so.
Vic, London Murray will never win major. He is just not good enough. Roddick is not on the same planet as Federer.
Alan, LondonMurray is too young to be written off just yet and Roddick deserves credit for his win. However, speaking as an Englishman, when Murray wins a Grand Slam it will be Scotland's triumph and Scotland's alone.
Charlie, Birmingham Re: Jay, Norfolk. Andy Murray is nothing like Ronaldo, as proven at the press conference after his semi-final loss. As with all highly competitive, successful and battle-hardened sportsmen and women, he was extremely disappointed to lose but acknowledged the excellence of Roddick's display.
He also refused to make excuses for his loss, debunking a suggestion that he may have been carrying an injury.
