F1: Hamilton 'tries too hard'
Martin Whitmarsh feels Lewis Hamilton has a tendency to "try too hard" but can be forgiven as he strives to become Formula One world champion.
The 23-year-old claimed a stunning win at Silverstone but admitted he had done a terrible job in qualifying.
McLaren chief Whitmarsh said: "Lewis does try too hard sometimes. He pushed very hard in the last sector in qualifying, probably overdriving it."
