Blues to reject Lamps bid

Chelsea will reject Inter Milan's £7.95m bid for England international midfielder Frank Lampard.

The club are adamant that they will not budge on the sale of the 30-year-old despite Inter's first official offer for the player.

Inter's bid arrived hours after new coach Luiz Felipe Scolari insisted that both Lampard and AC Milan target Didier Drogba have a future with him.

Scolari: Lamps to stay

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari claims Frank Lampard has told him he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues received a £7.95m bid from Italian giants Inter Milan for the midfielder, but the Brazilian boss had insisted there is no chance of a move.

Scolari said: "I met Frank Lampard and we spoke for 15 minutes and after this, I was very happy because he said he wants to stay at Chelsea."

Drogba part of plans

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari revealed he has had a "good conversation" with Didier Drogba.

The former Portugal coach revealed that the Ivory Coast international is "200%" part of his plans for the future, adding: "I like him."

Scolari also confirmed that England centre-back John Terry would retain the captaincy at Stamford Bridge, with Frank Lampard acting as his deputy.

Blues stars get chance

Luiz Felipe Scolari wants to get to know the players at Chelsea after his appointment as the club's new manager.

The 59-year-old Brazilian does not want to plan too far ahead without meeting the current crop of players at Stamford Bridge and expects to bring in a number of new ideas to the side.

Scolari said: "When you arrive you think about players but after training you change some ideas."

Easy decision for Scolari

Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari insists the decision to take the role at Stamford Bridge was an easy one.

After meeting with owner Roman Abramovich and chief executive Peter Kenyon, Scolari claimed his mind was made up for him.

The former Portugal coach said: "After I studied (the offer), and had time with Roman and Peter I thought 'yes, it's my team in future'."

Pressure not a problem

After being unveiled as Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari revealed he is confident he can deal with the pressure and expectations of the job.

Scolari led Portugal to the European Championship quarter-finals and will now focus on success in the Premier League with the Blues.

The Brazilian said: "I know the pressure to win every game. In my mind I am prepared for this."

Media unfaze Big Phil

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari insists he is ready to deal with the English media after his appointment.

Scolari cited media intrusion as one of the reasons he turned down the England job in the past, but he has denied there will be any problems.

He said: "I am ready for them (the media) and it is not a problem. The England national team job is not a normal position."

Scolari denies Ron advice

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has insisted he never advised Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Manchester United.

The 59-year-old had been reported as saying the winger should move to Real Madrid, but the Brazilian has denied making such a statement.

Scolari said: "I never advised Cristiano Ronaldo to change his club. I want to make that clear. If Ronaldo stays or goes it is not my business."
