Scarlets to be fired up

Llanelli Scarlets suffered a nightmare Heineken Cup campaign last season and the 2007 semi-finalists will be keen to get off to a flyer against Harlequins.

This will also be the Welsh side's last European match at famous Stradey Park, so emotions are certain to run high.

But an EDF Energy Cup win at Saracens suggests some solid southern-hemisphere signings have done the trick and they can beat Quins by more than four.

Biarritz worth opposing

Gloucester have yet to really find top gear this season but they will fancy their chances of running Biarritz ragged in the Heineken Cup at home.

The French side have never been the best of travellers in this competition and look vulnerable this term.

They have lost all three away games in the French Top 14 by 12, 14 and 26 points and seven start does not look enough against the cherry and whites.

Leinster can bounce back

Leinster travel to Edinburgh on the back of two Magners League defeats but the Irish province are tipped to get back on track in this game.

Before that double setback they had started brightly with two wins and a draw, including a 52-6 thrashing of this weekend's opponents at home.

The Scots were missing several key players that day but still look weak and Leinster can cover five start.
